WEDNESDAY 13TH SEPTEMBER
When I woke up yesterday it was if I hadn’t slept at all. My job is pretty full on and with shift work you can get drained very easily. I’m currently on night shift so when everyone comes home from work or when the children next door come home from school and play, it always wakes me up. No sign of the eight hours sleep yet. I can’t really do anything about it, they have to get on with everyday life. It wouldn’t be fair for me to expect them to adjust their lives around my sleep.
Food wise? Nothing new really. I’m getting quite bored of the salad but then if you have the same thing every day for two weeks that’s bound to happen. I find when it comes to food I have no problem eating healthy in work because everything is prepared and if I don’t eat what I brought then I go hungry. However, when I’m at home I’ll um and ah over what to eat, probably go for the unhealthy option and then because I’m sitting down all day I’ll snack out of boredom. I did however avoid eating the protein bar, so I’ll stop bringing them to work because I know now I absolutely don’t need them.
Water? Next question please! I did predict that I wouldn’t be able to drink my water target until my days off but I didn’t expect to replace it with tea. I had 4 cups of tea and it felt like I was crossing my legs and running to the toilet every 15 minutes. I had to stop drinking them! My muscles really are getting the brunt of it though. I often have extremely painful leg cramps that wake me in the night, but since I’ve been working out and not replacing my electrolytes, my leg cramps are much more painful and frequent. I had 3 alone last night.
Supplements were better again, I’m steadily improving with taking them. I really notice a difference when I don’t take them. My energy levels first thing in the morning are non-existent, my skin gets more spots (Read about my acne here) and I just generally look a bit haggard.
I did Lucy’s workout but I was a bit tied for time so I only did one. It was the thigh and arm toning workout, I really enjoyed it, once again. I love feeling like I’m working towards losing weight, whereas in the gym it was more push this bar, pull that weight, cycle faster. Very mundane, erroneous programs. I like how she motivates you and chats to you while you workout, it’s like having a friend there doing it with you.
This blog post is going up a bit late because I fell asleep writing it. Yep, you read that right. I came home from work, sat into bed with a cup of tea and my hot water bottle (that I have all year round even during the Summer!) and settled down to watch a Youtube video before I started writing. I could feel myself getting sleepier and sleepier so I decided to start writing the post as the video was coming to a close, I’d say it had another 2 minutes left. I can honestly say I don’t know how that video ended. When I woke up my draft page was open and there wasn’t even a title to the post. There was not one word typed! I hope you guys don’t mind it being a bit late but at least you have 2 blog posts today!
Let me know how your 3rd day of the #14DAYCHALLENGE went and don’t forget to tag me on twitter with the hashtag #ROADTOSKINNY and #LIFEOFA.
